Butch Body v Fake Eyelashes
Introduction
Just when I thought Congress couldn’t get any dumber, they go and do something like this.
And instead of totally redeeming themselves, they dress up in neon colored tuxedos, parading around a white tie event like they’re somebody when they’re really making fools of themselves.
As you’ve probably guessed by the title, this is about the eruption of idiocy last week during a House Oversight Committee hearing, during which Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez inserted themselves into the headlines. Again.
The play-by-play
I considered reading the transcript so you can really understand how stupid this whole thing is, but thought better of it to preserve neurons. They don’t grow back, you know.
Instead, you’ll have to be content with a brief summary.
So, the House Oversight Committee met last Thursday to discuss whether to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing to comply with a subpoena demanding that Garland turn over the video and audio recordings of President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur. For some reason, Greene asked Democrats on the committee if any of them employ the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York.
In response, Rep. Jasmine Crockett asked Greene, “Do you know what we’re here for?”
To which Greene replied, “I don’t think you know what you’re here for… I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Thus ensued the lowest-IQ back-and-forth between Greene, AOC, and Crockett, involving allegations of racism, stupidity, hurt feelings, and so on, before Crockett asked Rep. James Comer if talking about “somebody’s bleach blonde, bad built, butch body” is engaging in personalities.
The third use
The law - both God’s and man’s - trains us for righteousness (Titus 2:11-14; Proverbs 29:2, 12, 16). For instance, there is still, try as California may, a stigma around marijuana usage. As goes no-cash bail, so goes crime. And after Obergefell, Big Gay got even bigger and gayer to the point that support for so-called homosexual marriage is a majority position.
Greene is a symptom in this case, not the cause.
Even Trump is a symptom of our political pragmatism, but he’s the head honcho symptom who also does a good deal of teaching. The dots are simple to connect.
Trump is a loudmouthed serial adulterer who has made some form of profession of faith in the past.
Greene is also a loudmouthed serial adulterer who outright claims the “God-fearing” Christian Nationalist label.
And the same home-wrecking adultery has also been found in recent years in the likes of Kristi Noem, William Timmons, Lauren Boebert, and Jeff Duncan, and even Republican Reps. Beth Van Duyne and Rich McCormick with each other.
Tell me. How are we supposed to Make America Great Again when we can’t even stay faithful to our spouses? What exactly are these supposed conservatives conserving when they can’t conserve their own marriages, obviously preferring the Proverbs 7 woman to the Proverbs 31 woman? Don’t talk to me about Ketanji Brown-Jackson not knowing what women are when you don’t know what wives, husbands, and covenants are.
Not that kind of salty
And let’s address the fact that Greene in this incident is the one who is at fault at the root. She’s the one who brought up something not related to the committee hearing in the slightest, and Crockett was correct in her efforts to reel in the discussion. Greene then took the extra effort to insult Crockett.
This is not to defend AOC’s or Crockett’s responses, of course, but to correct Greene’s foolishness to throw around insults just because the one questioning her was a Democrat.
Remember, Greene claims to be a Christian, which means she should know her Bible at least a little bit.
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, redeeming the time. Let your words always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.” - Colossians 4:5-6
And of course, there’s a time and place to throwdown and season our speech with Carolina Reapers (Jude 3), but that’s not all the time. Remember, one of our complaints against the left is that they think everything is racist, which really means that nothing is racist. Well, if everything is spicy and turned up to 11, then nothing is really spicy. Leave one in the magazine every once in a while.
The first one to call me soft or woke loses 100 points.
